How to prepare for your tests
Simple rules that keep your results accurate. If you forget something — the nurse will remind you when you book.
Blood — fasting
Don't eat for 8–12 hours before the draw. Water is fine. Last meal — a light dinner before 8 p.m.
No sport or alcohol
For 24 hours before the test, avoid alcohol and intense workouts. They affect enzymes and hormones.
Urine — morning, midstream
In the morning, after hygiene. The first seconds — into the toilet, the rest — into the container. Bring it to the clinic within 2 hours.
Hormones — by cycle day
Most sex hormones are tested on days 2–5 of the cycle. Progesterone — on days 21–23. Confirm when booking.
Tell us about medications
If you take hormones, biotin or antibiotics — let us know. Some medications affect results and need to be paused.

Tests without a referral — in English, no PESEL needed
Every test at Aurora Medical can be done without a doctor's referral — just book a visit. The nurse will explain the preparation and answer questions in English, Polish, Ukrainian or Russian, and you'll receive your results online by email and in the ALAB patient portal. No PESEL number is required — we accept patients with a passport, which makes things easy for expats and newcomers to Poland. On request, a gynecologist or GP at the clinic can review your results during a consultation.

The simplest way to stay on top of your health is a ready-made check-up in Warsaw. Aurora Medical offers packages for different ages and needs: Check-Up 18–21 for 339 zł, Check-Up 21–39 for 379 zł, the "Pregnancy planning" package for 575 zł, and SexSafe — a complete sexually transmitted infection screening for 579 zł. NIPT tests — Harmony and Panorama from week 10 of pregnancy
Aurora Medical is one of the few places in Warsaw where a non-invasive prenatal NIPT test comes with the doctor's qualification included in the price: the doctor fills in the referral and helps you choose the right test variant. Available tests are Harmony (from 1,960 zł) and Panorama (from 2,254 zł) — an analysis of fetal DNA from the mother's blood from week 10 of pregnancy, with over 99% accuracy for the main trisomies and optional determination of the baby's sex.
